About Andrew Broadwater and the Andy B. Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation
Born on March 22, 1987, Andrew Michael "Wesley" Broadwater was the third of three Broadwater sons. In May of 2004, Andrew was diagnosed with a pediatric cancer known as osteosarcoma.
To say that someone has lived a full and productive life by the time they have turned eighteen may be hard to understand and frankly impossible. However, Andrew did just that. Although only eighteen when he passed on June 19, 2005 Andrew inspired and touched the lives of many through his grace and wisdom. Andrew had the ability to bring people together. He was a uniter. Shortly after his passing, the Broadwater family created the Andy B. Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation. 100% of all money raised goes to the fight of osteosarcoma. The Broadwater family has partnered with Riley Children's Foundation and Dr. Susanne Ragg to aide in her research of this disease. |
