Earlier this week, we launched the "Give 22" campaign on social media and this website. Some have asked why 22? Well, I have some answers. The number 22 holds great significance for us at the Andy B. Fund. After all, it was Andrew's jersey number that he wore when he played sports. He thought it was lucky. It was also the date of his birth on March 22, 1987. So, the number 22 gives us hope for many reasons. We feel "Give 22" is memorable and easily remembered that you can tell your family and friends about this cause. We know it's a crowded market in terms of philanthropic causes, however, for only 22 dollars you can make a difference in helping solve osteosarcoma. This gift is manageable even on a small budget. We're hoping to have as many participants give $22 as possible because one of the challenges we face is awareness about the disease. Please, tell a friend, family member, or whoever will listen about our cause. Click here to, Give 22 today! - Jason
Dear Friends, We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your participation in the 7th Annual Andy B. Memorial Golf Tournament on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Your support of osteosarcoma research and awareness is valuable in helping us fight to end this disease. Soon, we will be making a $15,000 gift to our research partner, Dr. Susanne Ragg and the Riley Children’s Foundation in Indianapolis, Indiana to continue the work she has started in researching osteosarcoma. This donation is used to buy much needed lab equipment and supplies, travel to various academic conferences, and to address other needs for the research lab. Again, our thanks for your generosity, time, and commitment to curing osteosarcoma. We plan to host the 8th Annual Andy B. Memorial Golf Tournament again next year. Look for details soon about the "orange out" we hope will happen to commemorate the 10 year passing of Andrew. In the meantime, we are happy to launch a new campaign called the “Give 22” campaign. This is where anyone can donate $22 dollars in Andy’s memory. Visit our website http://andybgolftournament.weebly.com/ to learn more in the coming days! Thank you keeping Andrew’s spirit alive. We can’t wait to see you again next year! -The Broadwater Family I freely admit, I was a big fan of Sesame Street growing up. Today's post is inspired by this gem of a video and the number 5. Hey, there weren't a lot of songs with the number 5 in them. What can I say? 5 days and counting until we kick osteosarcoma's butt. In one week, we kick osteosarcoma's butt! There are only a few spots remaining in this amazing event. Register today!

Register today at: Let's Kick Osteosarcoma's butt. -Jason I love finding pictures of Andrew smiling. It reminds me of all of the good times we had. He was a funny, happy, kid. So, we'll call this one #ThrowBackThursday.
Any parent, sibling, or friend of someone battling osteosarcoma knows there are not many smiles during osteosarcoma treatment. It's a mental and physical battle that doesn't take the weekend or holiday's off. It consumes you. Part of why we exist is provide comfort to those fighting this disease. If you and your family are battling osteosarcoma, we want to hear from you. Tell us your story by contacting us. We golf on 7/27 for you and for the memory of Andrew. Together, we can do this. |
